Hello, my name is Madeleine Dubé and I offer drawing lessons in private or small groups. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, a child or an adult, my personalized approach will help you to evolve in your discovery and learning of drawing. I am based in Sorel-Tracy, in the Montérégie region, on the South Shore of Montreal.
I am a graduate of Concordia University in Fine Arts, majoring in Painting and Drawing. This excellent program allowed me to develop my knowledge in the fields of art history and education, as well as to learn artistic techniques and to cultivate creativity.
In my drawing classes, I incorporate the artistic principles I learned in college, as well as those taught by Kimon Nicolaides, author of "The Natural Way to Draw", and Betty Edwards, author of "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". My philosophy is that to facilitate learning, drawing should remain a game - of course for the more ambitious, a program can be established, but discipline and patience will be required!
Drawing can also be therapeutic and an excellent way to change one's perspective on things. Since it uses the intuitive and creative part of our being, it can help us find solutions to everyday problems.
In my drawing classes, I offer three pillars for learning to draw. I can also guide the student in the formulation of a long-term personal art project that can be undertaken in conjunction with the foundations of drawing.
In parallel with the teachings of each course, students can also develop a personal project of their choice. Connecting the lessons with a personal desire for his or her own artistic project allows to give more meaning to the drawing classes.
I love to receive suggestions and feedback!
